CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR, LABOR DOULA & POSTPARTUM DOULA

Credentials: Bachelors of Community Development, Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Labor Doula, Trained Postpartum Doula, Trained Loss Doula

I began pursuing training in childbirth education and doula support in 2008, after being inspired by the motherhood journeys of many close friends, and compelled to become equipped to serve mothers in the developing world. I have worked in East Africa as a birth attendant and educator of mothers and midwives. I believe that parents have the best opportunity to make empowered decisions for their growing family when they are informed through education, and I find great joy in offering compassionate services to women during their most precious and vulnerable moments in life. My experience supporting families in  the prenatal, birth and postpartum setting includes families with multiples, those conceiving with IVF, high risk pregnancies, advanced maternal age, adoption, VBAC, clients on bed rest, premature birth, single parents, water birth, home birth, and special needs babies.  I also have experience with the Hypnobabies birthing method.  I am married to my amazingly supportive husband, Moses. I gave birth to our first daughter, Mireembe, who was stillborn in December of 2016. I gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Kisakye Patience in April 2018 and are excited to birth a new baby in October of 2020.
