NOVA Lactation Support

Supporting & Empowering Breastfeeding Mothers

Support that Suits Your Needs

NOVA Offers both in-office and in-home lactation consultations with IBCLC Chelsea Carver. As a lactation consultant, Chelsea’s role is to listen to and support you on your breastfeeding journey.  Lactation consultation varies greatly with each dyad, depending on your unique situation and goals. Whether in the comfort of your own home, or in our lactation suite, we evaluate your moment and make a plan together to meet your needs.  Learn More About Chelsea >

Our priorities are counseling parents to feed the baby, protecting or building mom’s milk supply, and keeping breastfeeding an enjoyable experience for both.  Our role is one of assessment, support and empowerment.

Whether this is the first time you are considering breastfeeding and would like a consult to to learn what to expect after baby arrives, a new mom working out the difficulties of learning on the job with a new little one, a veteran mom who is learning how to navigate nursing with a new “dance partner”, or even an adoptive parent wanting to feed the baby at the breast or help with biologically intuitive bottle-feeding— we are here to help.  A lactation consultant can also assist moms looking to build their milk supply, preserve it when returning to work, or wean from a breastfeeding relationship. Together we can work through whatever challenges you may be facing with feeding your baby and help you have the confidence and ability to meet your baby’s needs.

NOVA has the ability to work with some insurance companies to provide lactation services at no cost to you! We currently accept most Anthem, Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield - PPO plans and are working hard to add more!

Being at the breast reminds the baby of being in the womb: there’s that familiar heartbeat and soothing voice, as well as the warmth and comfort. And that makes the transition to the outside world a little easier.
